Second Baptist Church of Germantown is located in the Mt. Airy section of Philadelphia, at the corner of Germantown Avenue and Upsal Street. Our physical address is 6459 Germantown Avenue; Philadelphia, PA 19119. There is parking behind the church off of East Cliveden Street.

We invite you to join us for service each Sunday morning at 11:00 am.  For anyone who would like to watch online, our livestream is available on Zoom (Meeting ID: 792 871 956; Passcode: 380063).

Like the community surrounding our church, we are a diverse family, with a diversity of theological views. Our congregation is intentional about being “a church for all people.” While Second Baptist is predominantly female, a significant percent of church attendees are male, and a smaller percentage identify as other. The church is predominantly Black/African-American, but nearly 20% of attendees identify as Caucasian. The largest single age group are those ages 40 to 49 but the age of the congregation ranges from babies to those 75 years of age and above.

 

Second Baptist is committed to ensuring a safe, healthy, and welcoming environment. We take into consideration guidance by city officials as well as recommendations by the CDC and then try to make wise decisions about in-person gathering that account for those considerations and the health of our members. We want everyone else to make the decision they are most comfortable with and to feel welcome whatever their decision may be, whether to join us virtually or on the church grounds.
