Contrary to what those who occupy the Oval Office are saying, our church has never been closed! Yes The physical building has been locked and that is to minimize risk, to protect and honor the sanctity of life and the safety of our congregants. We are still worshipping together! We are still ministering to one another. We are still extending ourselves to others within our community.
Like everyone else, I would LOVE to be worshipping in our building. This will happen one day. However, we will not gather one day before it is safe for us to do so. The decision to reopen our church building for corporate worship will be made via our church leadership team, through prayer for guidance and reviewing scientific information provided by public health professionals. Because the safety of our church family is important it makes sense for us to continue with our virtual worship service until we can gather together in corporate worship in safety.
